I have the reason to believe that Comelec chief Abalos’ cheating machinery is rolling in connivance with AFP rogue chief Esperon and some elements of the police particularly in election hotspots, Mindanao Island and Cebu province. ‘Originals replaced with filled-up ballots’

THE camp of Genuine Opposition candidate Antonio Trillanes IV yesterday said that soldiers’ absentee votes in Mindanao and Luzon have been tampered with.
Rolando Averilla of the Trillanes for Senator Movement said soldiers from Basilan and Quezon provinces reported that ballots containing the names of GO candidates are being "replaced" by ballots with the complete Team Unity ticket.
"The vote rigging is massive among soldiers. We hope the soldiers will find a way to stop this," said Averilla.
Averilla said soldiers reported that vote rigging was rampant in Basilan; Zamboanga del Sur, where the First Infantry Division is based; Catbalogan City in Western Samar where Army troops are deployed; in Cavite where the 15th Strike Wing is based; in Davao Oriental; in Fort Magsaysay where the 7th Infantry Division is stationed; in Tanay Rizal, home of the 2nd Infantry Division; and in areas in Quezon province.
Absentee voting for soldiers started two weeks ago.
Averilla said ballots containing the name of Trillanes in Catbalogan City were replaced by a set of ballots containing names of all TU candidates.
"The new ballots appeared to be ready and already filled with TU candidates. They were really anticipating this (soldiers going all out for Trillanes)," he said.
There was a report that a soldier based in Western Samar even called up the GO headquarters recently in Makati to confirm the "ballot switching" operations.
Averilla said this information shows Malacañang and even the AFP leadership do not have full control of their soldiers as they are the ones leaking the information.
An alliance of retired military and police generals dubbed Bantay Boto this week exposed "Oplan Mercury Rising" which details an alleged plan by the administration to cheat in 16 regions and provinces which covers more than 14 million votes.
Bantay Boto said Armed Forces chief Hermogenes Esperon Jr. has issued a verbal directive to military commanders to ensure that the TU slate will get a 12-0 victory.
It said Army chief Lt. Gen. Romeo Tolentino also issued verbal instructions for troops to vote straight for Team Unity during the May 4 to 6 absentee voting in Tarlac, Samar and Davao Oriental.
The AFP leadership has dismissed the Oplan as a concoction to vilify the military and the Arroyo administration.
TU candidate Joker Arroyo said Oplan Mercury Rising was nothing but an "advance alibi" of GO to condition the minds of the people that Team Unity will cheat.
